New Adventures is the title of the latest solo exhibition by alt pop artist, Jacques Coetzer. Driven by the free-spirited logic of inquiry, it shows recent art made in Barcelona, Berlin, Copenhagen, Kilimanjaro, Zanzibar, and Pretoria. Coetzer explains his approach to this body of work: "Art invites you to take courage and play. You are troubadour, a lone guerrilla or a rolling stone ; not just a reluctant sculptor in a world over-saturated with objects. you are called to gather some faith and go knock on heaven's door."
Scheduled from 6-29 January at Blank Projects in Woodstock, Cape Town.
There will be a closing event on the evening of the 27th of January, where the artist will report back about an expedition to the Kilimanjaro ice cap, which he will be part of, during the course of the show.
The exhibitions will tour to the Goethe Institut in Johannesburg.
