22/01/2009 - 21/02/2009

Visiting Belgian artist Marie Snauwaert presented a video-, photography-, and sound installation. For 'Section', she invited 9 soldiers to meet her at night in a secluded part of the army barracks in Ghent. She asked them to move in front of the camera without any other external direction. The work is intended to raise questions about uniform and how it affects people, both the wearers and those they encounter. The exhibition also included a sound installation made in response to Snauwaert's experiences in South Africa. The exhibition opened on 22 January 2009
Marie Snauwaert (b. 1979) is based in Ghent, Belgium. She graduated in 2008 from the HISK, Belgium. In 2002 she obtained a Masters degree
