Performance/installation in which two actors make out in a fiat seicento installed in the blank exhibition space.
Bianca Baldi created an amorous montage combining actors, fiat seicentos, and hefty logistics to set up a frame for sanctioned romance: the back seat of a car. Playing on ideas of public affection, fantasy and the cinematic, Baldi employs letʼs pretend realism to stage a grand romantic gesture.
Bianca Baldi was born in 1985 in Johannesburg. She graduated from UCTʼs Michaelis School of Fine Art in 2007 and continues to work in Cape Town. Baldi works across media incorporating elements of performance, sculpture, public intervention, and lens based media into her practice.
