RH No. 235, "Dust to Dust" was based on the collection of San (or Bushmen) stories and drawings recorded by Bleek and Lloyd in the late 19th century. The images in the drawings were transformed into unfired clay objects. While the clay objects were exhibited at Blank Space, some extra clay figures were hidden in remote San rock art locations. After the show, all the clay figures from the exhibition were ground to powder and returned to the land, where Bleek's informants used to hunt and gather in the past.
